Recapping 2020-2021 girls’ action (Part II)

Aaron Jennings recaps the action at the second annual Future50 Camp&Showcase.

LEBANON, Mo. — The second annuall SWMO Basketball Future 50 Showcase brought together many of the region’s top players last Sunday at Lebanon High. Here is a look at the Class of 2020-2022 girls’ basketball players at the event. The players are listed by the team they played on and their jersey number.

Team C Zac Moore

(PLAYER, CLASS, SCHOOL, HT, NUMBER)

PLAYER                     CLASS  SCHOOL      HT    NUMBER

Megan Becker          2021 Crocker        5’9    72

A tough player who rebounds well and can handle pressure. A defensive-minded player who moves her feet and looks to force turnovers and get into the mind of his opponents. She can score some, and does so at times, but it’s usually through her defensive effort.

Greceson Cromer    2022 Conway        5’7    51

A solid guard off the ball who can catch and shoot and put her head down and get to the basket. Cromer is a composed player for her age and show a lot of potential as a first option scorer. She has good hesitation and combo moves with the ball. A scorer who doubles as a sneaky defender.

Jamison Cromer      2022 Conway        5’7    52

A player who hustles well and puts her energy into defense, forcing stops and passing and playing off the ball. She spots offensive schemes well and is good when she takes advantage of her skill. A player who can score from distance when she needs to and handles a bit.

Alyssa Hargus        2021 Blair Oaks    5’7    76

A good defender who plays above her listed height. She switches off with post player and stays inside and rebounds. She can also score and handle the ball on the perimeter. She is an aggressive player who plays big.

Keena Lowe             2022 Willow Springs        5’7    59

A nice post player with an excellent mid-range and a smart head on her shoulder. She sees the floor well and can get plays off the dribble. And again on that mid-range. A player who looks to shoot high percentage shots.

Jacee Pettyjohn       2022 Lebanon       5’4    62

A downhill player who moves in and out well and can weave through traffic and score against taller players. Pettyjohn was a surprise standout who had several great step-backs and showcased some combination dribbles as well.

Kinley Richards        2020 MV Liberty   5’6    86

She brings toughness and versatility. She handles the ball and moves off of it well. She plays with an edge and is confident guard who can also score. She bumps players off their path and takes off and rolls with it.

Sarah Seiden           2021 Nixa              5’6    80

A defensive-minded player who gets back quickly and forces mistakes. She puts pressure on the ball and forces turnovers and causes opposing guards to rush plays and throw away the ball. She is terrific in the open floor, able to attack the basket and finish in traffic and brings a high level of intensity to the floor.

Anna Sullins            2021 Licking                      91

A slasher who can attack the basket at any angle. She is a good passer and is good at using her body to feel for an opening to pass or score. Sullins can get her 3-point off well and is a great, almost underrated passer.  But everyone figured out she could dish by the last game.

Team D

(PLAYER, CLASS, SCHOOL, HT, NUMBER)

Jocelyn Clark            2021 MVBT Liberty  5’6 73

A 3-point shooter who knows her spots and can warm up in a hurry. Clark looks to scores quickly and is good at making extra passes, scoring when she has the look and locking opponents down on defense.

Naudia Evans          2021 Waynesville 5’7    75

An excellent point guard who can distribute and score at a high level. Evans continues to play great minutes on both ends as she forces opponents to make mistakes and rush plays. She defends tight and can knock away cross court passes and take it coast-to-coast. Evans just knows how to score.

Elizabeth Kinworthy   20 21 Gainesville 6’0    7

A good forward for Gainesville who protects the basket and gets on the boards. She has a good feel for inside play and can handle her own when the ball goes inside. She is a rebounder on both ends and she can find extra buckets off second chance looks. She makes contact when boxing out and keeps her opponent out of position.

Kamari Ouck            2021 Parkview      5’9    79

A versatile defender who can defend anyone on the floor at any given time. A stronger player than she was a year ago and she moves well inside and can use her speed to her advantage. Also a promising scorer and smart player with the ball. A shooter, slasher and finisher.

Grace Wohlgemuth    2022 Catholic       5’6    70

A terrific athlete with good size, jumping ability and the ability to run the floor. She plays a solid role throughout with her movement. She brings great energy to the floor and can defend multiple positions on the block and some on the perimeter.

Mariah Robinson    2022 Hillcrest       5’7    64

A smart player who picks her spots and picks off passes. She is a pass-first player who feeds the ball and moves inside and back out to set screens and pop out for a 3-pointer.

Carly Simpson                 2022 Nixa              5’6    66

An off the ball player who can catch and shoot at a high level. Simpson picks her moments and can come alive and score on the move when you least expect it. She has good vision as well and can feed the ball inside.

MacKenzie Simson 2022 Nixa              5’37   67

Simson came alive with a steal and finish and one. She is a strong player with the ball when she wants it. She can shoot it from distance and doesn’t back down when she has an opening. Like her sister she has great vision and sees things before they happen.

Biance Stocks           2020 Camdenton 5’6    90

Possibly the most skilled player in the gym. A well-rounded guard who impacts the game all over the floor. She has good speed and can get around defenders and find corners in open space. She is also a knock down shooter who is quick to release from deep.
