SWMOBasketball takes a look at several new names to know at MSU.

SPRINGFIELD — Missouri State University hosted its annual high school boys’ basketball team camp featuring four AAU teams (Yanders Law, Carroll, Marcus Denmon Elite and MBA) as well as Blue Valley Northwesst (Kan.), Confluence Prep and area teams Aurora, Glendale, Kickapoo, Lebanon, Parkview and Rogersville.

Here, SWMOBasketball takes a look at several new names area fans should know heading into the upcoming season.

Trevon Brazile, 6’5, G/F, 2021, Parkview. @trevonbrazile2

A long, rangy wing player, Brazile has terrific size and length and brings an inside-out game to the floor, He is a good defensive rebounder, can alter shots around the basket, but is quick enough to defend on the perimeter, At the offensive end of the floor he brings a calm demeanor to the floor and doesn’t try to do too much, content to let the game come to him. Brazile showed the ability to shoot from the outside and got to the basket effectively, especially in transition.

Jack Clinkenbeard, 6’0, G, 2021, Glendale (pictured)

Clinkenbeard impressed throughout the event with his playmaking abilities and court vision. Also a football standout, Clinkenbeard brings toughness and the ability to put his head down and get to the basket. He is a strong finisher in the lane and uses his size to his advantage well.

Bryson Crowell, 5’4, G, 2020, Lebanon

Crowell plays well for his size and shows speed and a high basketball IQ. He is a disciplined guard who can dazzle spectators and make smart plays. He likes to pass ahead and is at his best when a play extends the length of the court. A standout shooter, Crowell can burn teams that leave him on the 3-point line as he shows a consistent outside shooting stroke.

23-Will Berry, G/F, 2020, Republic

Berry plays a little bit out of his comfort zone on the block as he is most comfortable shooting from distance. He plays well on the defensive side down low and shows he is good at making adjustments and sacrificing his body to help his team.

Aaron Ledgerwood, 6’8, PF/C, 2022, Glendale

Ledgerwood was out on Thursday but has shown promise this offseason bringing a good post game and size to the floor. He got some key varsity minutes last season as a freshman for the Falcons as he helped an otherwise undersized team in the paint.

Cameron Liggins, 6’2, G, 2021, Kickapoo

Liggins is putting together a terrific offseason playing for Yanders Law and followed with a nice showing on Thursday at Missouri State. He has good length, brings good quickness to the floor and is a terrific defensive player. He works hard at both ends of the floor, moves well without the ball and brings a high basketball IQ to the court. He will be a key performer for Kickapoo this upcoming season as the Chiefs look to add several new faces to the mix.

25- Josh Linehan, G/F, 2021, Logan-Rogersville

Another strong wing player on the rise with a good length and size. He can defend on the wing and plays well under the basket. He blocks shots, moves his feet in and out of the paint and is always in front of his man. He’s the go-to player for a trap on the block and can come away with steals when he jumps out of the paint to deflect a pass.

2-JJ O’Neill, G, 2022, Logan-Rogersville

A smooth guard on the rise who has some shake-and-bake to his game. He runs hard and has good length which stands out on the defensive end. He jumps out at passes and is great at kicking off the team’s fast break looks. A younger player to keep your eyes on.

2-Joe Rexroart, 6’1, G, 2020, Republic

A tall guard who has good length and nice agility. He plays long and is a good defender and can use his length to tip away passes to his teammates. He can get to the basket and can finish with either hand near the glass. He plays the wing position consistently and shows he can bring the ball up the floor if needed.

3-Claye White, 5’11, G, 2020, Republic

White is a great piece for Republic when they go small. A guard with speed who can handle the ball some and doesn’t turn the ball over. He is a good shooter and a good passer and defender. White doesn’t take every open look he gets, but he can hit a good number of jumpers when he rolls the dice.
