We take a look at the players from one of the teams at the 2020 Future 50 Camp and Showcase

The 2020 Future 50 Camp and Showcase, held at Strafford Sports Center on Sunday August 16th, was a huge success and overall a great experience for the players and their respective families! We saw a lot of great players from the area do their thing, with a good portion of the games being very competitive, particularly on the high school side. And now, we get to write about each of the players.

Here, we take a look at some of the older players on the girls side. This is one of several parts we will be publishing over the coming days.

Naudia Evans, 2021 Waynesville, 5’6 – Evans is one of the best guards not only in southwest Missouri, but the entire state. Recently committed to D1 Grand Canyon in Colorado, Evans is as competitive as anyone around and plays with a chip on her shoulder. She is ultra quick and fast and can get her shot any time she wants off the dribble, able to pull up on a dime. She elevates well on her jumper and gets into her shot quickly, making her hard to defend. Guard her too close and she is past you in a nano-second and when she gets to the rim she has an assortment of ways to finish or draw the contact. But she is also outstanding at driving and dumping it off to teammates for easy scores. Evans has a lot of sauce in her game which makes her fun to watch. Sees the floor very well and is just a gamer who sets the tone for her teammates. Her defense is top notch as well, she uses her quickness to get her hands on a lot of balls and is also a great on the ball defender. Whoever she is playing against had better be ready…

Graceson Cromer, 2022 Conway, 5’7 – Cromer can fill it up from the outside on the catch and shoot, or off the dribble. Does a good job of creating space to get her shot off. Unselfish, she sets screens for her teammates and looks to pass. Also has good strength, allowing her to get shots off in traffic under contact. Cited for having good hands as well.

Jamison Cromer, 2022 Conway, 5’6 – Like her twin sister, Cromer can hit the 3 with accuracy and is a willing passer with good court vision. Thrives in the transition game, either passing it ahead or scoring it herself, but smart enough to know when to push it or slow it down. Shows a good propensity for playing defense and rebounding as well. A solid all around player that every good team needs.

Raegan Carter, 2023 Buffalo, 6’1 – Carter has great size and strength and has nice post moves and a good touch around the rim. Has good hands and hooked up several times with teammate Evans on drive and dumps. Great rebounder and defender as well, players will have to think twice about driving into the paint against her. Also showed a good mid-range touch on the offensive end. Should definitely make her mark on the high school basketball scene these next 3 seasons.

Maelynn Garrett, 2023 Neosho, 5’7 – Garrett got high marks for her defense, she was a lock down defender quick enough to stay in front of her opponent. The rare player who enjoys the challenge of shutting down her opponent as opposed to being concerned with how many points she scores. Also had a good touch around the basket on the offensive end and makes good passes and possesses good leadership skills.

Chloe Cornelison, 2023 Dadeville, 5’10 – Cornelison is aggressive around the basket, on both ends. Has some nice post moves and can finish with either hand, goes after rebounds and gets most of them and can defend the post well, coming up with several blocks. Knows to get the defensive board and look to pass it out quickly to a guard for possible transition points. She can also step out and make a mid range shot and the occasional 3. Very coachable, has a great attitude and is a good teammate who wants them to succeed.

Misora Nambara, 2024 Republic, 5’2 – Nambara is a 2024 player who played up. She is small, but ultra-quick and can dribble better than anyone around. With her handles, she puts on a ball handling clinic when she plays and is a player that fans love to watch. She can finish around the rim against much bigger players, often with some flare added, drawing the “oohs and ahhs” from the crowd. She will usually be the smallest player on the court, but plays without fear. Also a knock down 3 point shooter who gets her shot off quickly. Will be a head turner these next 4 seasons in high school ball.
