We take a look at the players from one of the teams at the 2020 Future 50 Camp and Showcase

The 2020 Future 50 Camp and Showcase, held at Strafford Sports Center on Sunday August 16th, was a huge success and overall a great experience for the players and their respective families! We saw a lot of great players from the area do their thing, with a good portion of the games being very competitive, particularly on the high school side. And now, we get to write about each of the players.

Here, we take a look at some of the younger players on the boys side. This will be one of several parts we will be publishing over the coming days.

Bryce Walker, 2025 Homeschool, 6’3 – Walker is already 6’3 and expected to grow even more, but he exhibits good coordination and can play out on the perimeter, both of which bodes well for his future development as a player. He can post up, and has great vision, able to find his open teammates from the post position, or look to score, when it is there. He has good hands and caught most any pass thrown his way. Also was cited for his good defensive play. With his size, he can intimidate players into missing shots, if he doesn’t block it.

Devin Sanford, 2025 Greenwood, 5’4 – Sanford’s superior quickness and ball handling ability allows him to be an excellent table setter for his teammates, if he doesn’t score it himself on the drive. He comes from a prominent local basketball family, so look for great things to come from Sanford as he grows and matures as a player.

Keaton Routh, 2025 Eminence, 5’11 – Routh is a physically strong player which enables him to finish around the rim through contact, but he can also play on the perimeter and create off the dribble for himself or his teammates.

Jaydon Carrizales, 2025 Pleasant View, 5’8 – Carrizales is a high motor player who has only one gear, he plays physical inside or outside on the defensive end and can frustrate opposing players with his combo of aggressiveness and physicality. He also has a nice looking shot and plays unselfishly on the offensive end.

Ryder Ross, 2025 Strafford, 5’6 – Ross got high marks for getting to the right places at the right time on both ends. A good shooter who can hit the 3 or the mid range shot when open, and a good ball handler who looks to push it up the court in transition.

Landon Boatwright, 2025 Aurora, 5’0 – Boatwright is a pest on defense, very good at guarding on the ball and staying in front of his opponent, good hands allow him to get steals and deflections. Offensively, he handles it well and looks to set up his teammates but can stick the outside shot when it is there.

Danner Nicholson, 2024 Van Buren, 5’4 – Nicholson got high marks for his hustle and physical play. He has no fear when chasing down loose balls. On the offensive end, he is very aggressive getting to the rim off the dribble.

JoVon Lewis, 2025 Pershing, 5’2 – Lewis is a super quick guard who can create off the dribble and get his own shot or set up his teammates. Has a good outside shot and uses his quickness to apply pressure on defense and force his opponent into mistakes.
